Vanessa Simmons is a very well rounded dancer, training in many styles such as Ballet and Pointe, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Commercial Heels, Tap, Acro, Lyrical, Modern, and Clogging. She is a part of an award-winning, elite competition team at Prestige Dance Institute, under the direction of Aleah Ham Darnell. Vanessa has received many scholarships and awards traveling to competitions, and scoring “Highest Score of the Day”. She has attended both the summer and winter programs of Commercial Dance Intensive (CDI) and has been a part of the North Carolina Dance Ambassadors Program. Some performance credits include Peel Off Your Fears (American Dance Festival), “Heart Thief” music video for Telisu, Your Vote Counts dance film, and performing the works of choreographers such as Al Blackstone, Molly Long, and Tom Richardson. Vanessa can recite the first 100 digits of pi!
